2020 National Championships Information

2020 NZ National Championship, 10 January 2020 to 18 January 2020

General Entry Information.

Entry will soon be open to anyone affiliated to the NRANZ. Competitors who are New Zealand residents are required to affiliate through an NRANZ member club. Overseas competitors must affiliate to the NRANZ and are required to pay the current NRANZ affiliation fee.

Visiting overseas competitors must be a current financial member of a club recognised by NRANZ and are to show proof of such membership on request. Members of visiting national teams will be graded “A” in the Target Rifle Class of competition.

The meeting organisers retain the right to decline an entry.

The current Technical Shooting Rules of the National Rifle Association of New Zealand Inc will apply during this meeting.

303 and Hunter Classes at 2020 Nationals. (Hunter Class CANCELLED)

303 Class has regularly been shot over the years in NRANZ Clubs. The Dick Travis run by Karori RC is the primary competition for 303's. Hunter Class has been trialed for two seasons.

The Executive have decided that a Demonstration Event for both classes be included in the 2020 Nationals.

Criteria include competitors being affiliated NRANZ members, a competitor can only enter either Hunter or 303, the current Hunter Class rules will be adopted for the event, and any 303 rifle can be shot as long as the stock is a 303 original wooden stock. The intent being to shoot as original as possible “Classic” 303 rifles. All rifles are expected to be zeroed prior to shooting. All competitors will be aware of the Seddon Range RSOs and have attended the morning briefing.

Hunter Class will shoot 5+2 (Hunter Class has been cancelled due to no entries as at 7/1/2020)

303 Class will shoot 10+2

Entry fee is $40 for 303 and $20 for Hunter Class

The Wednesday of the Ballinger Belt will be used for both classes. The 4 ranges for the day counting for the aggregate. 300, 500, 600, 600 yards (Matches 6 ,7, 8, 9).

Scoring for both classes will be standard NRANZ ICFRA target values.

Hunter Class and 303 competitors will shoot at the end of each squad at each range. These competitors will be spread over all the squads and are expected to score and register keep at the appropriate times. TR shooters may enter and then shooter 303 or Hunter at the end of the squad.

Three awards will be presented in both classes.

Tyro Eligibility.

A competitor who has not shot in any rifle club competition before 1 July of the previous year may enter as Tyro. The grade entered will be, “C-grade” with score cards endorsed as Tyro. A Grade and or Master Grade Small-Bore shooters are not eligible to enter as Tyro.

Cancellation and Refund of Entry Fees

Entry fees will only be refunded in exceptional circumstances. Refunded entries will incur a 15% booking fee.
